Audition Details

​

• All dancers who are ages 5 and older may audition for the Created to Dance Performance Company!

• All dancers, including current company members, must attend the in-person audition that will be held at Creation Dance Studio on Saturday, June 14th.

• Dancers must turn in a completed audition form prior to auditioning.

• Emerald, Sapphire, and Diamond dancers must audition for at least TWO dance styles. 

• After auditioning, dancers will be placed into one of five companies based upon their age and skill level. 

• All dancers must be available to attend Choreography Week in August, Monday, 8/11, through Saturday, 8/16.

Will CTD perform at Disneyland EVERY year?

CTD will not perform at Disneyland every year and will not travel to Disneyland during the 2024-2025 season. We look forward to returning to Disneyland in the future!

Pearl Company
Ages 5-6

​

• Dancers who are five years old must be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2025 to audition.

• The Pearl Company is an introductory performance company.

• Pearls Company dancers typically take classes at CDS two days per week.

• Pearl Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in both Ballet/Jazz and Hip Hop/Jazz styles!

Ruby Company 
Ages 7+

​​​

• The Ruby Company is appropriate for Beginning level dancers who have at least one full year of previous dance experience in a Mini or Beginning Level class.

• Dancers who are seven years old must be entering 2nd Grade in the fall of 2025 to audition in the 7-10 age group.

• Ruby Company dancers typically take classes at CDS three per week.

• Rising Ruby Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in both Hip Hop/Jazz and Ballet/Lyrical styles!

Rising Ruby Company (NEW)

• The Rising Ruby Company is appropriate for Beginning to Beginning/Intermediate level dancers who have at least one full year of previous dance experience in a Beginning Level class.

• Rising Ruby Company dancers typically take classes at CDS three per week.

• Rising Ruby Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in both Hip Hop/Jazz and Ballet/Lyrical styles!

Emerald Company

• The Emerald Company is appropriate for Beginning/Intermediate to Intermediate level dancers.

• Emerald Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles!

• Emerald Company dancers are required to participate in at least two styles of dance (for example: Jazz and Lyrical/Ballet or Hip Hop and Jazz), however, we strongly encourage all dancers to perform in all three styles. 

• Emerald Company dancers typically take classes at CDS three to four days per week.

Sapphire Company

​

• The Sapphire company is appropriate for Intermediate level dancers.

• Sapphire Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles!

• Sapphire Company dancers are required to participate in at least two styles of dance (for example: Jazz and Lyrical/Ballet or Hip Hop and Jazz), however, we strongly encourage all dancers to perform in all three styles.​

• Sapphire Company dancers typically take classes at CDS four days per week.

Diamond Company

​

• The Diamond Company is appropriate for Intermediate/Advanced to Advanced level dancers.

• Diamond Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles!

• Diamond Company dancers are required to participate in at least two styles of dance (for example: Jazz and Lyrical/Ballet or Hip Hop and Jazz), however, we strongly encourage all dancers to perform in all three styles.​

• Diamond Company dancers typically take classes at CDS three to four days per week.

 

Jewel Company

Ages 18+

• Jewel company dancers are not required to audition and should contact ctd@creationdancestudio.com if interested

• Jewel company dancers should have previous dance experience and be at an intermediate level of ballet.

• Jewel Company dancers will have the opportunity to perform in Ballet and Jazz styles!

Company Requirements

CTD dancers will have specific requirements throughout the year. ​Requirements include attending a certain number of Summer Classes, attending Choreography Week in August, enrolling in specific School Year Session classes, and participating in CTD performances. Although there are requirements for all dancers who participate in the CTD, we strive to make CTD a reasonable option for all families, both in terms of commitment level and financial obligations! Having your Emerald, Sapphire, or Diamond dancer only participate in two out of three dance styles is a great option for families who are looking for less time commitment. Participating in ALL dance styles is a great option for dancers who are deeply invested in dance! 

Summer Classes 

Dancers in CTD will be required to attend a certain number of Summer Classes leading up to Choreography Week in August. Summer class requirements are determined based on the Company that your dancer is placed in and the types of dance that they have auditioned for. Summer dance classes are required to ensure that dancers are maintaining and continuing to build their strength and dance skills during July and August!

Choreography Week

Choreography Week will take place Monday, 8/11, through Saturday, 8/16. During this extremely fun week, dancers will learn the majority of their CTD choreography, bond with their fellow company members, and participate in team building activities. On Saturday, 8/16, there will be an end of week celebration that includes all company dancers and families! 

School Year Session Requirements

Company dancers will have certain class requirements during the school year so that they can continue to learn and grow as dancers. School Year Session requirements are determined based on the Company that your dancer is placed in and the types of dance that they have auditioned for. In addition to required classes, dancers in all companies will have ONE rehearsal per week during the School Year Session where they practice their dances and prepare for upcoming performances. Please email ctd@creationdancestudio.com to receive a CTD Information Packet and a CTD Class Requirements Packet.
