What is Adaptive Dance?

Taught by Charmin Wray, Adaptive Hip Hop is a class that is specifically designed for dancers with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and those considered neurodivergent. Dancers will build community and experience the joy and benefit of dancing as they explore the fundamentals of movement within a fun, encouraging, and inclusive environment.

How can I determine if this class is right for my dancer? 

At this time, we cannot accommodate behavior that is disruptive or aggressive towards oneself or others. Individual Education Plan, Emerging Social/Emotional, and ongoing Academic Goals can be incorporated into the dance curriculum. We invite all families who are interested to reach out to us with questions!

Should I stay with my dancer during the class?

Parent and/or caregiver participation in class is optional and based on each individual dancer.

Tuition Information

Each 45 minutes class is $19 during the 2024-2025 School Year Session. To read more about tuition, please click HERE.

What is the Dress Code?

We recommend that dancers wear clothes that they can easily move in and are comfortable in, clean indoor tennis shoes, and have hair pulled back from the face.  Questions about the dress code? Please do not hesitate to reach out to us so that we can ensure that your dancer is comfortable.

How do I register? 

Registration is now open. Please fill out the form below and create a CDS Portal Account. Once you have created your account, click on "Register", choose the Summer Classes tab, select "Adaptive Dance" or "Adaptive Hip Hop", and check the dates that you would like to have your dancer attend.
